Adam Levine on The Voice (NBC)

Another “Voice” coach has been eliminated from the competition, joining Christina Aguilera as a highly paid seat-filler with nothing to do. Adam Levine, whose two remaining contestants, Amanda Brown and Melanie Martinez, were both strong competitors on last night’s Top 6 performances, watched both of his girls get sent home tonight.

Despite losing his team in one night, Adam remained positive after Melanie’s early elimination, talking later on about how “The Voice” is just a stepping stone for Amanda along a big career.

Luckily, Amanda got one last chance to shine tonight, getting two chances to perform. First, she opened the show by completely upstaging Ne-Yo in a duet of “Let Me Love You.” Later, she did a duet with Cassadee Pope of Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway.”
