Diddy thinks that Kendrick Lamar's claim to be the new "King of New York" is a laughing matter. While not directly addressing Lamar's already infamous line from Big Sean's "Control," Diddy did throw a not too subtle jab at the rapper on Instagram.
The Bad Boy mogul posted a picture of him and Jay Z laughing courtside at a basketball game with the caption, "And then Kendrick said...'I'm the King of New York.'"
Former Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls head coach Phil Jackson is name-checked in the track, with Lamar rapping, "If Phil Jackson came back, still no coaching me."
The line sent the Zen Master to Twitter to drop some knowledge on the Compton rapper. Jackson tweeted, "@kendricklamar it’s okay to be cocky and sure, but we all need somebody to lean on. Let’s just call it mentoring."
Your move, Kendrick.
