The fallout continued over the weekend from the Chris Brown and Drake brawl. Among the developments were:

  • W.i.P, the New York City Nightclub where the brawl took place, was shut down Saturday night for code violations.
  • Drake vaguely referenced the fight during a concert Saturday night in the Big Apple, where he said, "When I woke up this morning, I had to think about a lot of things. But the only thing I gave a [expletive] about was that I was in New York City tonight."
  • Russell Simmons released a statement saying he believed Brown and Drake are ready to bury their beef. "I have spoken to both Chris Brown and Drake's camp in the past few days, fearing that the situation from the other night might escalate. I never asked what happened or who started it, that's not my business," Simmons wrote on his website, GlobalGrind"Both told me that they have no interest in taking this any further. So, for those who are looking for the next Biggie/Tupac beef, there is nothing here to see and definitely nothing for anyone to try to get involved in from the outside."
  • On Friday, Brown went on a Twitter rant against media coverage of the brawl. "@TMZ, y'all full of [it]. It's insane how your stories are not informative at all and far from [the] facts!" said Brown in a since-deleted Tweet. He added: "It's really sad! All y'all in that office sit behind a desk and hide behind your lives by trying to tarnish others! Good game!"
  • NBA superstar Tony Parker confirmed that he had been injured by flying glass during the fight. He said he suffered a scratched cornea, though he did not expect it to cause him to miss this summer's Olympic Games.
