Kris Humphries' claim that his marriage to Kim Kardashian was a publicity stunt has gained credibility.
In court documents obtained by Life & Style magazine, Keeping Up With the Kardashians producer Russell Jay admitted in his recent deposition in the couple's divorce "that at least two scenes depicting Kris negatively were scripted, re-shot or edited."
Russell said Kim did not know when Kris was going to pop the question and "was completely surprised" by his bedroom proposal. However, she did not like her original reaction and asked, "Can we just like, have me come back in one more time and be, like, really surprised?"
Russell also confirms reports from last year that Kim shot a scene with mom Kris Jenner, in which she talked about her marriage struggles with the baller after she'd already filed for divorce in October 2011.
A source says Humphries "feels vindicated. It's obvious they were trying to tarnish his reputation. This will prove how fake Kim and the show are." However, TMZ insists that this actually sinks Kris's case. They point out that "since he proposed and she was surprised, it means it positively wasn't a grand scheme to dupe him," and also that "Kris clearly knew she re-shot her reaction, so no matter what, he was in on everything."
Kim is set to appear in court on May 6th to defend herself against the allegations.
